On the Wizard "General Instructions" page of the configurator is the statement:
"These selections modify the Brain parameters on a new unit or if they are selected immediately after a factory reset before any other setup is done"
I can see how this will work when making manual changes. Does this also apply to a Configuration file load after a factory reset? That is, will the parameters be modified in the same way on load?
Let's say I have a couple of parameters wrong on the Wizard page, and BrainDev has suggested I fix them. As I read the statement, if I want to retain the other settings on the other pages, the file I load must already have the corrected parameter values in place; I can't change them afterwards and have them take any effect. Is that correct? Indeed, do the "General Instructions" values have any effect on the settings when loaded from a file or does the configurator assume they have previously been made when originally manually set?
TIA,
Paolo
When loading the file of a previous configuration of the same or another flight controller, the default values of the various parameters that are set during production or after a “Reset to Factory Default ...” command are changed to the values in the configuration file.
Therefore, the flight controller will no longer have the parameter values set to the default values (unless the configuration file was saved when the flight controller was new and still in Factory default but it would be a completely unnecessary operation to save the default values of the parameters since just giving the command “Reset to Factory Default ...” would be enough).
Therefore, the answer to the question is simple:
After loading a configuration file, the flight controllers no longer have the default values of the various parameters and therefore the values are no longer the “Factory Default.”
