[Solved] Tail Motor control on mini brain - or additional channel on uBrain

I do have a lot of  tail motor driven heli.  All of them are scale like helis, as I like the fenestron rotors pretty much.

Currently 3 thereof have the uBrian installed. I like the uBrain.

What I'm sometimes missing is at least one channel to switch light on/off.

Therefore the question is there any chance to add one more channel to the uBrain", or is there any future plan to enhance miniBrain with tailmotor feature as well.

The Micro Brain2 is designed to be mounted on micro and mini models where there is no space for a standard control unit and where the components mounted on these small models all need very little weight.

For this reason the Micro Brain2 uses the JST connectors used in the micro-models' servos as connectors. These connectors have a reduced maximum current rating compared to standard servo connectors. With these connectors the required current could not be supplied by servos mounted on 500 / 550 / 600 / 650 / 700 / 800 class models.

Micro Brain2 flight control units also have two fewer connectors than other control units:

Micro Brain2 flight control units do not have the CH2 auxiliary connector to control accessories or to control 4 servos swashplates or to function as input of one of the PWM channels of standard receivers.

Micro Brain2 flight control units do not have the second connector (SAT2) for Spektrum satellites and in medium to large models where the chassis shields the radio signal you need to be able to mount a Spektrum satellite on either side of the chassis.

Micro Brain2 don’t have the USB "On Board" connector, but can only use the Remote USB (supplied with the flight control unit).

When the software (Windows, Android iOS) sees that the controller to which the app is connected is a Micro Brain2 controller many functions that cannot be managed by these controllers are present but deactivated. In addition, the maximum blade size (which determines the various PID gains of aileron and elevator) is limited to 385mm.

 

About Mini Brain2, you probably don't have read all release notes or/and tested Mini Brain2 in demo mode:

I conclude by making it clear that tail control by a fixed pitch propeller controlled by an electric motor works well on micro and mini models, it works less well on large models because as the weight and mass of the whole tail boom and tail assembly increases, fast acceleration and deceleration become more difficult.
