Having a difficult time getting the integration to work on my X18S. I've read through the readme however the instructions do not coincide with the layout of my transmitter. Any suggestions?
Could you please clarify better what is your problem and what do you mean by "Layout of my transmitter"?
After putting the transmitter in "Bootloader" mode and connecting the transmitter to your PC the two disk drives of the transmitter become available.
The first is the system one and contains only two folders: "bitmaps" and "fonts".
The second is the working one and contains a larger number of folders.
For example, "audio," "firmware," "models," "scripts," etc.
The "scripts" folder is where you will need to put the FCU.luac and FCU.png files found in our "Ethos_Integration.zip" file.
In case in your new transmitter the "scripts" folder is not yet present, you just need to create it.
With Ethos unlike OpenTX there are two types of applications and some cannot be run by selecting the file directly, but are preloaded in memory and run each time the transmitter is turned on.
In order to have them loaded and run when the transmitter is turned on and then be able to switch to their display, you have to do exactly as explained in the Readme.txt file and then select their icon displayed in the "SYS" section:
If you do not do as explained in the Readme.txt file but, for example, you load or update the files in the radio using the "FrSky Suite", they were not executed when you turn on the transmitter and therefore will not appear to be working or will not appear to have been updated.
Again, all this is already explained in detail in the Readme.txt file. Please, read it.
I have read the readme.txt
I do not use ethos suite (or frsky suite) I created the scripts folder and uploaded FCU.luac and FCU.png into it with bootloader like is described in the readme.txt
I am running 1.3.3 on the X18S and what I found in the general setup page was that the script will not run if the scripts are set to "radio". I turned the selector to "SD card", moved the scripts folder to the SD card and it runs. Perhaps something changed with newer Ethos software.
Did you write the folder name correctly (all lower case including the initial letter)?
If in doubt that you are using the wrong disk, have you tried copying the "scripts" folder to the other disk?
What version of Ethos are you using? The new 1.4.X versions unlike the previous 1.3.X versions seem to have problems.
Hello,
where can i find the Script for ETHOS?
Thank you very much
Benno
You can find in Brain2 Software (Windows app), at the top on “Help” there is “Download latest Ethos integration”.
You can find also in the "Downloads" section of our WEB site.
