Hi,

I have used 3.4.139 with an HW 120A V4 ESC and the ESC PWM (GASS %?) comes through the MSH data logs and is sent via telemetry to the transmitter fine. BTW I really like this new feature of the Brain V2 firmware.

I changed the ESC to a HW 150A V5 and the relearning telemetry, now PWM (GASS %?) is just the throttle signal that the transmitter sends to the ESC for RPM control. The data is not PWM anymore, it is the same as the throttle curve setting in the transmitter.

Telemetry settings: ID 0D4F, 16 for both HW 120A V4 and HW 150A V5. Both ESCs have their latest firmware.

Can we get HW 150A V5 PWM telemetry back?

Unfortunately, what you ask does not depend on our flight controllers and us but on HobbyWing and the new telemetry data protocol sent by the Platinum V5 ESCs.

Already at the time when we had received the documentation of the new telemetry protocol V5 from HobbyWing (April 2022) we had immediately pointed out to HobbyWing this anomaly with respect to the previous telemetry protocol V4 that no longer allows users to be able to control the governor operating range of their new V5 ESCs, but so far they have not changed the transmitted parameter that still remained "Throttle Input" for now (totally unnecessary and redundant because our flight controllers already record the ThrottleOut signal sent to the ESCs).

Since we have been unsuccessful in our request to HobbyWing, the only hope is that there will be a sufficiently large number of their customers writing to HobbyWing complaining and asking for this correction in the transmitted telemetry parameter.

My analysis was expecting this to be a bad choice on the part of HobbyWing as you now confirm, and even if you do not use a Brain FBL, who needs a copy of the throttle signal added to the telemetry data as the transmitter already has it. Poor thinking on HobbyWing part.

Thanks for confirming this situation.

You might want to make a change to document README_for_ESC_datas_log_and_telemetry.pdf, vers.3.9 2023 July 24, page 2, section 3, saying that HW 150A V5 will not produce "ESC Power Out" telemetry, but rather "Throttle Out".
